Delayed post - was in drafts for long time and I havent noticed it...
It is a very rare incident indeed. I watched two movies in two weeks!
1. Mozhi / Studio-5 / Sunday Night:
I felt very happy after watching this movie. Studio-5 was a perfect environ to match this nice film. A good attempt to portray the life of a physically challenged person. Jyothika has tried her best to fit in the role. She does this job elegantly, but with a few hiccups. Prakash Raj is simply excellent! He has taken pains to ensure that evey frame is taken right. From the music he plays when the 'darshan' happens to the point where he proposes to Swarnamalya - picture perfect.
Prithviraj, on the other hand, has played a quiet role. Apt choice. There are, however, certain routine-tamil-cinema-stuff that could have been avoided:
* The actions of Jo when she is angry with Prithvi.
* Dog chase sequence
* The wife character of Professor
* The son character of the Flat Secretary
Songs - two songs are excellent, one stole my heart! Sevvanam by Jassie Gift is a nice one. Kaatrin mozhi is a gem by Balram. A feather to his cap after Dhavam onru from ABCD.
Overall - Not to miss!
2. Chennai 600028 / Tuesday / Sree
It has been long since we saw a movie like this. I cannot stop appreciating this bold attempt despite a few sodhappals here and there...
Sodhappals:
* Entire character of Arvind and his girl friend including a matter song at the guest house
* Commentary of Badava Gopi
* Stupid insertion of Saroja song in a Seth's house
Now, on to the loomier part:
The characters of Raghu, the heroine's brother and the Saloon owner are staying fresh in the mind even after the movie is over. They have actually lived, not acted. Karthik has done a neat job. The T-shirt of Sharks is nice. I have to search for one!
Jalsa song is very nice. There are a few sequences that have been captured excellently - pothi vecha malligai mottu song, the seq where a boy throws a ball at the ambulance driver and says, "engamma unkooda pazhaga koodaadhunu solllirukanga" or something like that...
Nice movie.
