10.5

The mention of the number 10.5 reminds me of the famous quote by C.N.Annadurai in one of his political rallies:

"maadhamo chithirai
maniyo patharai - ungalai
thazhuvuvadho nithirai - marakkamal
emaku iduveer muthirai"

The following is a list of top 12 things what I have learned during the last 10.5 years, although this list is not intended to be an exhaustive one and is not in any particular order. Ofcourse, I have a few items listed out, unlike Humphrey Appleby's famous file to Jim Hacker that said, "This file contains all important documents except:" and had nothing inside it!

  • There are no skeletons in the cupboard
  • Nothing exists as a secret
  • Don't give any surprises to your boss
  • Always trust a friend who provides the expected feedback that you don't want to hear
  • Respect your time and others' time
  • A short term sour medicine is as good as a long term sweet medicine
  • People will forget what you told and what you did but will not forget how you made them feel
  • Patience has its last laugh, it fetches its own reward
  • Grapes in the vineyard are delicious and are at the same time dangerous
  • Never postpone resolving a problem, focus on solutions than complaining about problems
  • Retain a hobby, it is more often the best stress reliever
  • Each one has a talent other than what it apparently appears to you
