Warning: This post might contain certain gross words
Well...I had a business visit to the U.K (Brentwood, London and Basildon), Sweden (Göteborg), Spain (Valencia) and Germany (Cologne / Köln) in a span of two weeks. Needless to say, it was hectic. However, I could not miss to observe things that strike a huge difference when it comes down to an apple-to-apple comparison:
1. There are no Bill-posters calling people to take up treatment for piles without surgery
2. Cattle -- confined only to farms in the suburbs
3. Traffic discipline is followed everywhere. It runs in their blood. Pedestrians gain their way first
4. No hap-hazard parking
5. Shops and establishments are organised. No petty shops with reels of Evening tabloids claiming an unforeseen violence or a report on an actress' navel
6. Residential and commercial areas are ear-marked separately
7. Transport system is integrated. I can buy a ticket and travel in any mode of public transport
8. Planned suburban development
9. Marketing and branding everything
10. Penal action is strict
11. Police, as far as I have observed, do not accept any bribes
12. No 'cheap&best' mentality
13. Hardly any beggars
14. No Pan-parag spits (Don't argue that they seldom use it)
15. No peeing at public places, given the fact that the weather there is comparatively cold than ours
Before you question my patriotism and quote examples defying my points, take a relook. You will agree.
